American Express Championship led by Garcia

WOODSTOCK - Sergio Garcia has a one-stroke lead going into Friday's round of the American Express Championship at the Capital City Club north of Atlanta.<br>

Garcia shot a five-under 65 yesterday as one of only 12 golfers under par.<br>
<br>
Rocco Mediate and Tim Herron trail with 68's, and defending champion Tiger Woods -- who made two long birdie putts and five good par saves -- is was another stroke back at 67.<br>
<br>
Masters champion Mike Weir had an early share of the lead at four under, but three bogeys over his final seven holes dropped him to a 69.<br>
<br>
Vijay Singh, who leads the money list, recovered from a tough start and shot a 70. <br>
<br>
Davis Love the third, like Woods a four-time winner this year, made three straight bogeys early in his round and shot a 74.
