Decatur woman pleads guilty to Social Security fraud

ATLANTA-A Social Security claims adjuster pleaded guilty Wednesday to taking part in a scheme to sell fake Social Security cards to illegal immigrants.<br> <br> Celestine Huger, 44, of Decatur will be sentenced Jan. 8 by U.S. District Judge Clarence Cooper for conspiracy and accepting a bribe as a public official.<br> <br> Huger was one of 28 people indicted 11 months ago. The U.S. Attorney&#39;s Office said the ring sold more than 2,000 Social Security cards between April 1999 and September 2002 at $300 to $1,500 per card, the U.S. Attorney&#39;s Office said.<br> <br> According to the indictment, Huger received about $70,000 in payoffs from Matar A. Fall of Atlanta. Fall, 53, pleaded guilty in April to conspiracy and bribing a public official.<br> <br> The others named in the indictment were middlemen, U.S. Attorney Willam S. Duffey Jr. said.
