Walker leads Buford to big win

BUFORD - Darius Walker rushed for 216 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead No. 1 Buford to a 49-10 win over Union County Friday night in Region 8-AA action.

The Wolves (6-0, 5-0) found themselves in a dogfight early as neither could score in the first quarter. but Walker exploded in the second quarter scoring three times and amassing 175 yards by halftime.

The Panthers (1-5, 0-4) scored the most points off Buford than anyone all season, with all 10 points coming in the fourth quarter.

matthew Prentice drilled a 27-yard field goal and Matthew West scored on a 4-yard run.

Buford will travel to Wesleyan (5-1, 4-0) next week in what will be a showdown for first place in the region.

Wesleyan upset Greater Atlanta Christian earlier in the year.
