EDA grant OK'd for Towns County

HIWASSEE - Towns County, the City of Hiawassee and the Towns County Industrial Development Authority have received an Economic Development Admnistration grant of $1 million.

The money will be used to assist in the upgrade of Hiawassee's water system and development and completion of the Towns county Industrial Park, according to the Georgia Mountians Regional Development Center.

The total cost of the project is $1.8 million.

A $300,000 Applachian Development Commission grant has also been awarded for the project.
