ASPEN, COLORADO - To those who have asked why he is leaving Atlanta-based CNN for a job with a nonprofit think tank, Walter Isaacson poses his own question: ``How could you not want it?''
Isaacson, the departing head of CNN, is taking over the reins of the Aspen Institute. He inherits an organization with a rich history and a solid operating plan, a place where great minds of 20th century have gathered, and a serene setting.
In his new job, Isaacson will enjoy the company of presidents and Nobel laureates and delve into the pressing issues of the day while soaking up the beauty of Aspen, Colorado.

In return, he will serve as a high-profile leader, someone who can lure his powerful acquaintances and bring in fund-raisers.
In addition to his time at CNN, Isaacson, who is 50, was a Rhodes scholar, author of a critically acclaimed biography on Henry Kissinger and managing editor of Time magazine.
