NORCROSS - A Sugar Hill woman could face charges in a traffic accident that killed her passenger.

"Charges are pending at this point. We're waiting to get test results back from the state crime lab of her blood and urine to see if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision," said Gwinnett County Police Corporal Dan Huggins.

Lucas Parker, 18, of Suwanee died Sunday after the wreck on Satellite Boulevard at Old Peachtree Road. Leah Smith, 19, was driving when her vehicle was hit in the side by another car.

"At this point it appears that she did not stop for a red traffic signal. A vehicle traveling westbound on Old Peachtree struck her vehicle in the passenger's side," said Huggins.

Smith and Scott Hildebrandt, 45, of Norcross, the driver of the other vehicle, suffered non life-threatening injuries.
