Three women suspected in string of robberies

CANTON - Three women, including a former sheriff&#39;s deputy, were in custody Tuesday in connection with several convenience store robberies in Cherokee and Cobb counties. <br> <br> Rebecca Boone, 42, of Ball Ground, was being held in the Cobb County Jail on armed robbery and weapons violations charges. She also faced similar charges in Cherokee County. Boone, a former captain with the Pickens County Sheriff&#39;s Department, was fired in June 2002. <br> <br> Authorities said sheriff&#39;s deputies stopped a pickup truck late Friday on Ga. 92 that had been seen at two armed robberies in Cherokee County. <br> <br> Cherokee County Sheriff&#39;s Deputy Nicole Ebbeskotte said investigators found money and weapons inside the truck. On further investigation, officials believed the women had been involved in an earlier armed robbery in Cobb County, Ebbeskotte said. <br> <br> The other suspects - Amanda Boone, 41, of Burnsville, N.C., and Jamie Peterson, 38, of Ball Ground - were being held in Cherokee County. Boone faced charges of criminal conspiracy to commit armed robbery; Peterson faced charges of armed robbery and weapons violations. <br> <br> Ebbeskotte said Peterson faced similar charges in Cobb County. <br> <br> Rebecca Boone and Amanda Boone were unrelated, police said.
