Hawks put Wilks on waivers

ATLANTA - The Atlanta Hawks Tuesday waived guard Mike Wilks, three days before his contract would have been guaranteed for the rest of the year. <br> <br> If he clears waivers Friday, the Hawks are expected to sign him to a ten-day contract. <br> <br> Wilks joined the team December 24 after a stint in the National Basketball Developmental League and started two nights later against San Antonio. With Atlanta, he averaged 8.3 points and 2.8 assists in six games.
