Dawson Co. getting state $ because of tornado

DAWSONVILLE - Dawson County is getting more than $11,000 from the state as reimbursement for expenses associated with a tornado that hit the county a few weeks ago.

The money is from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA).

It is for expenses the county incurred in providing individual assistance to tornado victims.

The check totals $11,710.
