ATLANTA - Georgia Republicans are planning quite a party in Atlanta Monday night to celebrate their victory in the governor's race.
Sonny Perdue will become the first Republican governor in modern history this afternoon when he takes the oath of office at Philips Arena.

But the real celebration begins down the street at 7:30 Monday night, where ten-thousand are expected at a black-tie inaugural ball at the Georgia World Congress Center.
Ray Charles is among the entertainers set to serenade the new governor. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will also be on hand to provide music for the governor's dance with his First Lady, Mary Perdue.
Most of the guests are people who are active in the state Republican party or big donors to Perdue's campaign. Tickets to the party cost $50.
They'll get to rub elbows with state dignitaries and munch on light snacks. And even though Sonny Perdue does not drink alcohol, organizers say a cash bar will be on hand. The party lasts until 11:30 Monday night.
