Georgia gets $4.5 million in federal home loan assistance

ATLANTA - About $4.5 million in federal home loan assistance is being sent to Georgia communities to create affordable housing. <br>
<br>
The money from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta will benefit 874 low-to moderate-income homebuyers and renters in Albany, Americus, Atlanta, Augusta, Calhoun, Decatur, Macon and Rockmart. <br>
<br>
Grants range from 35,000 to a half million dollars. Atlanta will receive the most grants, totaling $2.1 million. <br>
<br>
Since 1990, the FHLBA has contributed more than $242 million to help build more than 40,000 homes and rental units for low- to moderate-income families.
