The 9-foot statue of the now 81-year-old Spahn was commissioned through the Oklahoma Sports Museum by the Braves Museum and Hall of Fame. It's being sculpted by Shan Gray of Norman, Oklahoma.
The Braves have honored other greats such as Hank Aaron, Phil Niekro and Dale Murphy with statues outside the stadium.
A ceremony to dedicate the Spahn statue is scheduled in May.
Spahn won 363 games from 1942 through 1965, missing three seasons when he served during World War Two. He spent all but one season with the Boston -- then Milwaukee -- Braves. He played his final year with the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants.
Spahn is a native of Buffalo, New York, but moved to Oklahoma in the 1940s.
