Arctic air mass headed to southeast Georgia

ATLANTA - The National Weather Service says an arctic mass will move into southeast Georgia Thursday, bringing falling temperatures -- with single digits possible in extreme north Georgia. <br> <br> A hard freeze and record cold temperatures are expected Thursday night and again Friday night. Experts say they expect it to be the coldest weather since February 1996. <br> <br> The National Weather Service says strong winds up to 25 miles per hour will cause dangerous wind chill levels. <br> <br> Officials warn people to take precautions with pets and outdoor plants. <br> <br> Overnight low temperatures are expected to dip into the teens with near 20s in the southernmost parts of the state.
