450 new jobs coming to LaGrange in west Georgia

LAGRANGE - A company that offers warranty protection for home appliances is opening a new customer service center in LaGrange that will bring 450 jobs to the west Georgia town. <br> <br> American Home Shield will break ground on the 60,000-square-foot building by the end of this month. It will be the anchor tenant in Calumet Center Office Park, an upscale business center a mile east of the city&#39;s downtown business district. <br> <br> The company cited LaGrange&#39;s high-speed broadband infrastructure in its decision to locate to the town of 26 thousand. <br> <br> American Home Shield provides warranty protection and service to homeowners and consumers on major appliances, home heating, air conditioning, electrical, and plumbing systems. <br> <br> It is a subsidiary of ServiceMaster, which is based in Downers Grove, Illinois. The company provides housecleaning, pest control and landscaping services to about 12 million customers worldwide. Its brands include Terminix, TruGreen ChemLawn, Merry Maids and Rescue Rooter.
