Bowers forming political consulting firm

ATLANTA - Former Georgia Attorney General Mike Bowers announced Thursday he is forming a political consulting firm to help clients with governmental and media relations, among other things. <br> <br> The 61-year-old Bowers was the state&#39;s top legal officer from 1981 to 1997 when he resigned to run for governor. He lost his bid for the Republican nomination the following year after admitting to a long-term adulterous affair. <br> <br> He since has been in private practice and his son, Bruce, was a key adviser to Governor Perdue&#39;s transition team. <br> <br> Bruce Bowers and John Watson will be partners in the consulting firm. Watson was the general consultant to Perdue&#39;s campaign and vice chairman of his transition team. <br> <br> The firm will be called WatsonBowers.
