Thrashers place McEachern on injured reserve; recall Farkas

ATLANTA - The Atlanta Thrashers placed forward Shawn McEachern on injured reserve Thursday and recalled forward Jeff Farkas from the Chicago Wolves of the AHL. <br>

The 33-year-old McEachern suffered a groin strain Sunday against the New York Islanders. He is on injured reserve retroactive to January 20. <br>
<br>
Farkas, who was acquired from Vancouver on Monday, has 11 goals and 14 assists in 38 games this season with Manitoba of the AHL.
