Georgia St. holds off Florida Atlantic rally

ATLANTA - After blowing a 15-point second-half lead, Lamont McIntosh's jumper with 14 seconds remaining gave Georgia State a 66-64 victory over Florida Atlantic Thursday night, the Panthers' sixth victory in the last eight games. <br>

Georgia State (9-8, 4-2 Atlantic Sun Conference) built a 34-29 halftime lead and then used a 15-5 second-half run for a 49-34 advantage with 15:30 left in the game. <br>
<br>
FAU (5-13, 1-5) came right back with a 13-2 run that left the Panthers with a 51-47 lead with 12:01 to play. <br>
<br>
Leroy Davis hit a jumper with 1:34 left to give Georgia State a 64-60 advantage. But, a pair of free throws by Earnest Crumbley and Jeff Cowans lifted the Owls into a tie with 49 seconds to play, the last basket before McIntosh's game-winner. <br>

FAU's final try was a 3-pointer by Earnest Crumbley that failed. <br>
<br>
Nate Williams led Georgia State with 24 points and eight rebounds, while Leroy Davis scored 18 points. <br>
<br>
Crumbley scored 16 along with Chris Thomas to lead the Owls. Seven-foot center Nick Neumann scored 13 points and pulled down 13 rebounds as FAU held a 38-28 rebound advantage.
