EASTMAN - Two men charged with robbing an Eastman jewelry store are suspected in four similar crimes in Georgia, as well as robberies in two other states.
Troy Anthony Sherrill, 39, of West Point, Ala., and Curstantation McRae, 29, of Austell, were arrested Wednesday and charged with armed robbery for holding up Friedman's Jewelry in Eastman.
On Aug. 20, the men entered the store, one of them carrying a gun, tied up the employees, stole the jewelry from the display case and fled on foot, said Greg Harvey of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Harvey said the men are also suspected of robberies in Virginia and South Carolina, along with four jewelry store robberies in Georgia in recent months.
No charges have been filed in the other cases, but Harvey said the men are the prime suspects in those robberies.
