ATLANTA - A Fulton County medical examiner has revised the autopsy report of a black teenager shot by a white police officer.
The autopsy revision, released Wednesday, now says 18-year-old Corey Ward died from a bullet that traveled ``slightly front-to-back'' through his head. The original report said the bullet traveled ``slightly back-to-front.''
Ward's family claims the young man from Decatur died because of racial profiling.
Police said plainclothes officers saw Ward smash the window of a car parked in Atlanta's Buckhead district on July 14. When the car alarm sounded, the man tried to drive away in a Chevrolet Tahoe.
Officer Raymond Bunn ordered Ward to stop, but he continued driving and struck the officer.
The initial autopsy report said Bunn rolled up on the hood of the sport utility vehicle and fired two shots through the driver's side of the window.
Dr. Michael Heninger, who performed the autopsy, said he adjusted the report after reviewing photographs of the body.
