Both parties have questions after runoff

ATLANTA - The Georgia primary season that ended this week with a score of runoffs has raised questions for both parties as they get ready for contests this fall. <br> <br> Democrats are left wondering whether the defeat of U.S. Representative Cynthia McKinney -- coupled with the defeat of her father, state Representative Billy McKinney -- might depress turnout in November among urban black voters who help keep them in power. <br> <br> Republicans were hoping to showcase a Latino woman as a sign of their eagerness to embrace diversity. But they were left wondering if their strategy had gone awry when Vernadette Ramirez Broyles lost her bid for secretary of state to Charlie Bailey. <br> <br> Weak turnout among black metro Atlanta voters could cripple the re-election hopes of Democratic Governor Barnes and Senator Max Cleland if their races are tight elsewhere in the state.
