Libertarian sues to enter House race

ATLANTA - A would-be Libertarian candidate for Congress is suing to get his name on the ballot in a new west Georgia district. <br> <br> Wayne Parker filed the suit Sunday after hearing that state elections officials rejected his petition of 18,000 signatures to put his name on the ballot. <br> <br> Parker has plenty of signatures, but thousands were deemed invalid because they didn&#39;t live in the Eleventh District. <br> <br> The district which includes parts of 17 counties along the Georgia-Alabama line from Chattooga County south to Muscogee County. <br> <br> Parker wants a judge to put him on the November fifth ballot along with Republican Phil Gingrey and Democrat Roger Kahn. <br> <br> The Libertarian Party of Georgia blames the Democratic Legislature&#39;s new political district map, which made it difficult to determine which voters lived in the Eleventh. <br> <br> Georgia law requires third-party candidates for Congress to collect the petition signatures of five percent of the number of voters from the previous election.
