ATLANTA - A popular TV crime drama will kick off Sept. 29 with a storyline similar to that of the Tri-State Crematory investigation.
NBC has announced that the second season of ``Law & Order; Criminal Intent'' will begin with an episode titled ``Dead.''

In the show, police ``investigate a suspicious crematorium - and discover a graveyard of decomposing bodies in a nearby field that were never incinerated,'' according to an NBC press release.
While the release doesn't cite the case involving the crematory in Noble, ``Criminal Intent's'' executive producer had already done so.

``We have a story taking off on the Georgia crematorium story that was in the news last May with a very unusual twist,'' Rene Balcer told TV critics in Los Angeles this summer.
But while the storyline will be familiar, the show will be about fictional characters. A spokeswoman said Wednesday the show does not appear to have any scenes set in Georgia or contain any mention of the state.
