West Georgia clothing manufacturer to shut down

BREMEN - West Georgia clothing manufacturer will shut down, leaving 100 people without jobs, the company&#39;s chief operating officer said. <br> <br> When the Hubbard Co. closes its doors by the end of the year, the last of Bremen&#39;s clothing manufacturers will have left the town of about 4,000. <br> <br> Chief operating officer Todd Crook said no one in the plant&#39;s work force will be transferred to other jobs. <br> <br> ``We have no potential buyers because of the textile industry,&#39;&#39; Crook said. ``The U.S. clothing manufacturing business has been hit hard by lower prices from overseas manufacturers.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> The plant was a large part of the textile industry in Haralson County, where Hubbard, Warren Sewell Clothing Co. and Sewell Manufacturing once employed as many as 5,000 people.
