LaFAYETTE - A man charged with murdering brothers Larry and Arvine Phelps while they worked as volunteers at a boys home has been denied bond.
Donnie Allen Hulett Jr., 21, made a brief appearance Tuesday before Judge Jon Bo Wood in Walker County Superior Court.

Hulett's court-appointed attorney, Stephen Moore of Fort Oglethorpe, said his client is expected to plead innocent, but that there will be no plea until Hulett is indicted.
Hulett is charged with shooting the brothers at the Mountain Top Boys Home in Villanow. He fled in Larry Phelps' truck, officials have said.
He was arrested Aug. 2 in Casa Grande, Ariz., 10 days after Walker County authorities began searching for him, and was brought to the county jail Aug. 20.
Hulett's next court appearance will be at a preliminary hearing in about a month, but that date has not been set, Moore said.
