KENNESAW - The Kennesaw police chief who was fired after admitting that he used a city credit call to buy an alternator for his son will get an appeals hearing.
The hearing for Police Chief Dwaine Wilson is set for October 18th.
Wilson had been police chief in the Cobb County city since 1984. A report by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation says Wilson admitted to using the credit card to buy the $209 alternator for his son's car.
The report says Wilson denied that he intended to defraud the city, telling GBI agents he pulled the city card out of his wallet by mistake.
Authorities say Wilson had NO explanation for noting that the part was for a police car on the voucher he submitted with the receipt.
