Andrew Corporation to cut 800 jobs

ORLAND PARK, ILLINOIS - Andrew Corporation said Wednesday it will reduce its work force by about 800 under a previously announced restructuring plan. <br> <br> The Orland Park company, which makes coaxial cable and other telecommunications equipment, will close manufacturing and engineering plants in Newnan, Georgia; Burlington, Kansas; Addison, Illinois; and Sunnyvale, California. <br> <br> The telecom company disclosed July 18 that it was considering ways to cut costs, citing the reduced spending in the telecommunications industry and resulting delays in new network projects.
