CANTON - Authorities are looking for a fourth man thought to have been involved in the abduction and beating of a woman who was then left in north Cherokee County woods.

Jason Alan Padgett, 20, was wanted on a kidnapping with bodily injury charge, said Nicole Ebbeskotte, Cherokee County Sheriff's spokeswoman.

The victim, whose name was not released, was abducted, beaten and abandoned in the woods Sept. 12. Rescuers were able to find her when she called 911 on a cell phone and directed authorities to her location despite serious injuries.

Padgett was thought to be in the area of Acworth, Bartow County or Paulding County, officials said Tuesday.

Another suspect, Edward Matthew Berger, 22, of Acworth, was arrested last week and charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery and kidnapping with bodily injury.

Kenneth Mark Campbell, 19, of Acworth, was arrested Thursday on a probation violation warrant. Campbell wasn't charged in connection with the woman's beating but was riding in a pickup truck in which a man was shot Sept. 13.

Investigators said that case is linked to the Sept. 12 beating because the victims in the both cases knew each other.

Cherokee authorities also issued warrants for Danny Dutton, who is accused of driving the pickup truck. Illinois investigators said he was seen there during a police chase, but he got away.
