MACON - Macon police have seized 56 video poker machines from a vendor at the Georgia State Fair.
Police say the reconditioned machines seized Tuesday were being sold for $295-$500 each. Sergeant Duncan Matthews says five machines had been sold and taken away before officers confiscated the remaining machines.
He says the machines had been used on casino boats.
No one has been charged in the case. It remains under investigation by police and the district attorney's office.
Duncan says the law stipulates you can't have any part of the machines in the state.
People were not playing the machines at the fair. Police say the machines were lighted up and offered for sale.
Matthews said police received an anonymous tip that the machines were being sold in a booth at the fair and confiscated them just after 9 p.m.
