GAINESVILLE - According to Friends of Gainesville Parks and Greenways Executive Director Kristin Daniel, construction on the Ivey Terrace Park-Rock Creek restoration project has not been slowed by the area's recent rains.

"The construction is on target. It's a 180 day project that began in August," Daniel said.

The $1.3 million project is slated to be completed early next year, and will fix and beautify storm water problems along the stream bank and build a multi-use trail between Adair Street and the Ivey Terrace parking lot.

Daniel said its been a long time coming.

"We've been working on this for the last six years, and now work is finally underway, the funds are in place, there's work, it's happening, it's happening in the park," Daniel said.
