Son charged in mother's death

ACWORTH - A 36-year-old Acworth man is charged with murder in the death of his mother. <br> <br> Bartow County Sheriff&#39;s Department Major Doug Duncan says authorities arrested Scottie Dewayne Smith Thursday outside his parents&#39; home. <br> <br> Duncan says deputies found his mother&#39;s body inside the home. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is trying to determine the cause of death. <br> <br> Authorities say Smith&#39;s father called the sheriff&#39;s office to say his estranged son was at the house and he was worried about his wife, Linda Jacobs. <br> <br> Smith also is charged with burglary.
