COLUMBUS - The body of a 72-year-old Columbus man, a cousin of Recorder's Court Judge Mary Buckner, was found inside his home, dead of a gunshot wound.
Police did not have a motive nor a suspect in Tuesday's slaying of Moses Buckner, who is also the uncle of District Four school board candidate Naomi Buckner.
Linda Buckner said she had just seen her uncle hours before he was found dead.
Relatives said Buckner, who was retired, shared the home with a niece who worked in Atlanta and came home on weekends.
A nephew, Garry Lakes, said, ``We don't know who would want to kill an elderly man. I guess that's why everyone is stunned.''
