ATLANTA - A staff attorney for the governor's Office of Consumer Affairs has been suspended with pay after being accused of setting a restroom fire at a nightclub.
Jonathan C. Poss, 30, was charged Sunday after the small fire at the Chamber club, Atlanta Fire Department spokeswoman Jolene Butts-Freeman said Wednesday.
Butts-Freeman said a club security tape showed Poss lighting a cigarette and throwing the match and the cigarette into a trash can.
Poss, who is free on $25,000 bond, has held his $56,925-a-year job for about a year, Consumer Affairs spokesman Bill Cloud said.
