Five-year-old suspended for bringing toy gun to school

SAVANNAH - A five-year-old kindergarten student at White Bluff Elementary School was suspended on his second day of school for bringing in what school officials say was a violent toy, tiny plastic guns used for GI Joe dolls. <br>

The principal, Jane Ford-Broacato, says under state law, the boy violated the zero tolerance policy and was suspended. <br>
<br>
The child's parents, who said they support the zero tolerance policy, but were not happy with their plight. <br>
<br>
They called Savannah TV station WTOC, saying the situation was ridiculous. The station began making calls on the story and a short while later, the suspension was lifted.
