TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA - Florida State completed its second preseason scrimmage without any major injuries, a pleasant change for coach Bobby Bowden after the No. 3 Seminoles lost three players to injury in their first.

``Everyone improved on the last scrimmage and we came out pretty lucky on the injuries,'' Bowden said.

The only starter injured Wednesday was offensive tackle Brett Williams, who re-injured a strained shoulder when he fell trying to make a downfield block and a teammate landed on him.

Williams will not be back in full pads until the Aug. 24 season-opener against Iowa State, trainer Randy Oravetz said.

The first-team offense scored two touchdowns Wednesday, one a 44-yard pass from starting quarterback Chris Rix to receiver Joey Kaleikini, the other a 19-yard run by freshman tailback Leon Washington.

Florida State's four freshman backs got 22 carries in Wednesday's scrimmage; starter Greg Jones got only two.

``We've got to decide what we want to do with them,'' Bowden said. ``We can get special plays for them and let them play or we can hold them back.''

The Seminoles' defense tallied five sacks on the day and linebacker Allen Augustin returned a fumble for a touchdown.

The team will scrimmage again Friday.
