Suspect in deaths of brothers returned to Georgia

LAFAYETTE - A man accused of murdering two brothers who were doing volunteer work at a northwest Georgia boys home last month makes his first appearance in a Walker County court on Thursday. <br>

Donnie Allen Hulett Jr., 21, was returned Tuesday from Arizona, where he was captured Aug. 2 after eleven days on the run. <br>
<br>
Hulett, of Gordon County, is accused of shooting Arvine and Larry Phelps on July 22 while they were clearing brush at the Mountain Top Boys' Home, located between Calhoun and LaFayette in the Chattahoochee National Forest. <br>
<br>
Larry Phelps, 62, was a retired Whitfield County educator, and Arvine Phelps was a retired Dalton State College professor. <br>
<br>
Hulett was scheduled to appear before a magistrate Thursday for a first appearance hearing to be officially charged and notified of his rights.
