Officer wounded in standoff was shot by police gun

DULUTH - A Duluth officer wounded in a shootout with a man holed up in his house last week was struck by a police supervisor&#39;s bullet, authorities said. <br> <br> Officer Jill Manders, an eight-year veteran of the Duluth Police Department, was shot in the hip and thigh during a standoff with Roman Khaimov, 38, who was later killed. <br> <br> Gwinnett District Attorney Danny Porter said Monday that the bullet that hit Manders matched an uncommon weapon carried by Duluth police supervisors - not Khaimov&#39;s weapon or guns carried by officers. Porter said he did not know which of about three supervisors at the scene fired the shot, but ballistics tests would be performed. <br> <br> ``It was clearly an accident,&#39;&#39; Porter said. <br> <br> Khaimov fired shots at his estranged wife at a nearby park, then held police at bay for two hours from inside his house.
