ATLANTA - The government will allow metro Atlanta's largest home health provider to keep receiving funds from Medicare and Medicaid programs.
Officials accepted a corrective action plan provided by Visiting Nurse Health System.
But the health insurance specialist for the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services -- Bill Blanton -- says the nonprofit agency still must correct serious problems with nursing services and record keeping.
Federal inspectors had questioned several cases of inadequate patient care and incomplete clinical records and threatened to eliminate funding for the company that provides care to more than 20,000 patients a year in 26 Georgia counties.
Visiting Health Health System Care had been given a deadline of Saturday to provide the plan.
