RICHMOND, VIRGINIA - Good thing there wasn't much Internet surfing on ``The Dukes of Hazzard.''
Actor-turned-congressman Ben Jones -- Cooter on the popular TV show in the '70s and '80s -- missed the online filing deadline to report his financial activities to the Federal Election Commission this week. He couldn't get his password to clear with the agency.

Jones says he tried to send the report to the FEC all day Monday -- the deadline. The FEC does not accept faxed copies.

Jones' report finally reached the commission by midday Wednesday.
Jones says it's ``absurd'' to require candidates to file electronically.

He may be fined $600 for missing the deadline.
Jones, a Democrat, is challenging Republican Eric Cantor for Virginia's Seventh District seat this fall.
