Two years probation for Georgia resident convicted in counterfeit conspiracy

COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA - A Georgia resident has been sentenced to two years probation for conspiracy to pass counterfeit money. <br>
<br>
Federal prosecutors say 20-year-old Nikkol Smith of Atlanta also must pay $400 restitution. <br>
<br>
Authorities say Smith, Marcellus Roby and Ronnie Boyd traveled to Columbia, South Carolina, in January and passed about $1,200 in counterfeit money at several stores. <br>
<br>
Police arrested Smith after employees at a Best Buy store became suspicious and contacted police. <br>
<br>
Roby and Boyd have pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing.
