Passenger arrested for trying to carry gun on plane

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA - Police in Florida have arrested a lawyer for attempting to carry a gun onto an airplane headed to Atlanta. <br> <br> Thirty-eight-year-old David Craig Calley of Jacksonville was charged Sunday with attempting to board an aircraft with a concealed dangerous weapon accessible in flight. <br> <br> Calley offered no explanation to U.S. District Judge Thomas Morris at a hearing yesterday. He could face ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine if found guilty. <br> <br> Security workers at Jacksonville International Airport discovered the unloaded gun in Calley&#39;s carryon luggage. <br> <br> Officials say he was trying to board an afternoon flight on Delta Air Lines to Atlanta. <br> <br> Airport police say Calley had a license to carry a firearm, but did not tell airline employees he was carrying the gun as required. <br> <br> The judge released Calley on his own recognizance so he could take scheduled depositions in Little Rock, Arkansas, this week. <br> <br> Calley, who said he plans to represent himself, is scheduled for an arraignment in Jacksonville Friday. <br> <br> He is the second man arrested this month at the Jacksonville airport for carrying a gun.
