Driver's license renewal now online

ATLANTA - Motorists in metro Atlanta will be able to renew their driver&#39;s licenses online under a new measure that takes effect Monday. <br> <br> The state&#39;s $16 billion budget includes more than $7.5 million for automated licensing procedures. The money also will pay for 90 new positions needed to run the upgraded system and four new driver&#39;s license offices. <br> <br> Motorists eligible for Internet renewal will be notified by mail prior to their renewal date. They can fill out the renewal information online or mail it to the department. <br> <br> People who have moved since getting their last license are not eligible. And first-time applicants must get their license in person.
