Savannah man hospitalized after apparent gas explosion

SAVANNAH - A Savannah man has been taken to the Augusta burn unit after being injured in an apparent gas explosion at his apartment. <br>
<br>
The explosion happened just after 9 p.m. Sunday. <br>
<br>
Savannah fire officials say the back wall of the building collapsed. <br>
<br>
A fire depar;tment spokeswoman says a natural gas line was running to the house, but it's too soon to know if that's what caused the explosion. <br>
<br>
Firefighters say the may who lived in the apartment is on a ventilator in critical condition. <br>
<br>
Darlene Tuccillo of the fire department said the man was blown out of the building, got up and started wandering off. She said a neighbor grabbed him and called the fire department. <br>
<br>
Officials are conducting an investigation to determine what caused the explosion.
