GAINESVILLE - A driver escaped injury Tuesday when his tractor trailer overturned on CSX train tracks in Hall County. The rig blocked the tracks on the property of Apac Asphalt on Candler Highway.

The driver, who said for insurance purposes he would only identify himself as Todd, said the turn into the plant was sharper than he realized. "The trailer was a little longer than what I usually haul. The back tandems just went off into the ditch, and I tried to power through it, but it caught on the railroad track and just turned it over," said the driver.

Todd is a driver for J and M Trucking and said he was hauling Limestone. No one was injured in the accident.

Asphalt company officials declined comment. Trains were halted while the rig was uprighted.
