Police identify man fatally shot while fleeing officers

EAST POINT - Police have identified a motorist who was fatally shot when he fled police during a traffic stop near Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport. <br> <br> Police identified the victim as Allison Jones, 33, whose hometown was not known. <br> <br> An autopsy Wednesday determined that Jones died of a gunshot wound to the chest, said Tami Schroder, senior investigator for the Fulton County Medical Examiners&#39; Office. No further details were available. <br> <br> Jones was fatally shot Tuesday morning after he was spotted driving a sports-utility-vehicle erratically and tried to flee police. The SUV crashed into a guardrail, East Point police said. <br> <br> Authorities were approaching the SUV when it rolled back toward them, officials said. Police fired several shots into the vehicle, which then drove across a bridge over Interstate 85 and ran off the road nearby. <br> <br> Two officers were placed on administrative assignment, a routine procedure following a police shooting.
