ATLANTA - Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin says Mrs. Smith's Bakeries in Suwanee is voluntarily recalling three-and-a-half-ounce packages of Mrs. Freshley's, BlueBird, Aunt Hannah and Blue Ribbon carrot cake because they may contain undeclared whey.
Some people are allergic to whey, a dairy product, and consuming the products could lead to an allergic reaction.
Irvin said the recalled cakes were in clear plastic packages marked with ``best if used by'' August Fourth. They were distributed nationwide in retail stores and through vending machines.
