Rooster gets court delay from complaining neighbors

SAVANNAH - A noisy rooster got a reprieve from complaining neighbors Tuesday when a court case against his owner was delayed until August 5. <br> <br> Arthur Weed owns the chicken - who is named Fred - paid a $640 fine in December for violating a city code that outlaws ownership of ``fowl which howls.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Weed moved the bird&#39;s coop farther away from one complaining resident, but he refused to get rid of Fred. <br> <br> Since Judge Larry Dillon was tied up in conference, the case was pushed back four weeks. <br> <br> Pro Tem Judge Mary Kathryn Moss heard testimony in court Monday from neighbor Christina Keith, a nurse who works nights and tries to sleep during the day. She told the judge she has called police about Fred&#39;s crowing, only to hear it&#39;s an ongoing case. <br> <br> Moss&#39;s husband, Matt, grew up on a farm and is well-acquainted with sounds from roosters and other barnyard animals. <br> <br> He said, ``That&#39;s why I had to leave.&#39;&#39;
