ATLANTA - Fans of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pink won't see those acts at the downtown Tabernacle because it will be closed for at least two weeks.
The Tabernacle had to be temporarily closed after a worker accidentally hit a sprinkler pipe Monday by the stage, causing major water damage at the converted 2,500-capacity church.
Officials said there was no structural damage. The 600-capacity Cotton Club downstairs also will be temporarily closed.
Several concert dates will be affected, including pop star Pink on Thursday and a 10th anniversary fete Wednesday for radio station WNNX-FM starring the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers.
A radio station spokesman said the concert was being moved to the Atlanta DeKalb Center off Buford Highway, which can fit about 2,250 people. It's unclear where Pink will play.
