Beavers plan to take a bite out of accountants

PORTLAND, OREGON - It&#39;s time for a futile gesture at a ballpark on behalf of the accounting industry, and the Portland Beavers are just the guys to do it. <br> <br> The Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres is going to sponsor ``Arthur Andersen Appreciation Night&#39;&#39; later this month. <br> <br> At the team&#39;s July 18th home game against Edmonton, anyone named ``Arthur&#39;&#39; or ``Andersen&#39;&#39; will receive free admission. The first person named ``Arthur Andersen&#39;&#39; will get a gift package that includes a party inside a luxury suite for 80 friends. <br> <br> Fans are being encouraged to bring old documents to be destroyed at several ``shredding stations&#39;&#39; throughout the park. And the team will tuck away certificates for a game of ``massive debt hide-and-go-seek.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Beavers general manager Mark Schuster says that, with all the negative stuff that&#39;s come out of major business accounting scandals, sooner or later you have to laugh about it. <br> <br> Portland plays at PGE Park, named for Portland General Electric, a utility owned by-- Enron.
