Man struck, killed on I-85

NEWNAN - The Georgia State Patrol says a Columbus man has been struck and killed on Interstate 85 after he ran from his parked pickup into the path of a tractor-trailer. <br> <br> The accident happened about 6 p.m. yesterday 13 miles south of Newnan. <br> <br> Patrol officer Brandon Dawson says 57-year-old Robert McCoy was thrown 135 feet into the emergency lane guardrail. <br> <br> The officer says the driver of the tractor-trailer says the victim ``ran right out in front of him.&#39;&#39; No charges were filed against the driver.
