Man with fake ID arrested at Athens airport

ATHENS - A man detained at an Athens airport because airline employees thought he acted suspicious turned out to be a fugitive from New Jersey, police said. <br> <br> USAirways Express ticket agents told police that Osiris Gabriel Cepeda, 32, of Athens, started acting suspicious when they conducted a random search of his luggage at Athens-Ben Epps Airport late Tuesday. <br> <br> An airline spokeswoman said he paid cash for a one-way ticket to Philadelphia from Georgia. <br> <br> After his luggage was examined, officials found an envelope containing numerous documents, including passports and Social Security cards with different names, Athens-Clarke police said. <br> <br> According to WAGA-TV in Atlanta, Cepeda told agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigations on Wednesday that he had made up that name. <br> <br> Cepeda was arrested on five counts of second-degree forgery and six counts of possession of counterfeit identification. He was wanted in New Jersey, where he was due to begin serving a sentence for an aggravated assault conviction, Athens-Clarke Assistant Police Chief Mark Wallace said. <br> <br> He was being held in the Clarke County jail awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
